The INTERREG III B MEDOCC Initiative is jointly financed by the ERDF and the Member States who have to complement with a national financial contribution.

For the 2000-2006 period, the Community Initiative Programme Interreg III B Medocc has an available budget of 214,9 million Euros. According to the partners' regions of origin, the ERDF contribution is fixed to a maximum limit of:

75% of the total cost of the project for regions within objective 1.

As far as Italy is concerned, the financing rate of ERDF is the same as all the regions and is equal to 50%. Referring to the national contributions, Italy still represents an exception since the national contribution is fully guaranteed by the State through the Rotation Funds.
50% of the total cost is for the other regions.

For the regions belonging to the INTERREG III B MEDOCC Programme; the maximum limit is therefore of:

	Italy	50% (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Umbria, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Val d'Aosta)

	Malta	75 % (the whole territory)

	Portugal	75% (Algarve, Alentejo)

	United Kingdom	50% (Gibraltar)

The budget (214,9 billion Euro ) is assigned to the Priorities as follows:

Priority 1: 12,18% of the budget, (26,17 million Euro )
Priority 2: 16,07% of the budget, (34,54 million Euro )
Priority 3: 20,98% of the budget, (45,10 million Euro )
Priority 4: 43,77% of the budget, (94,10 million Euro )

Objective 5: 6,99% of the budget, (15,03 million Euro ) are assigned to the technical assistance of the Member States in order to guarantee the set up of normal operations of common structures and the implementation of the Programme itself.

The EU cofinances the Interreg III B Medocc community initiative programme through the ERDF with a quota equal to 119,3 million Euros.
